Harry Teague stops by the office

Today Harry Teague, candidate for New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District, stopped by the office to talk with our political staff about the dynamics of the his district. The 2nd district is basically the southern half of New Mexico. His district is the key to winning New Mexico in the Presidential Race. In 2000 New Mexico went to George Bush by 300 votes and in 2004, Bush won again by 6,000 votes. The 1st CD is evenly split and the 3rd CD is pretty solidly Democratic. But the 2nd Congressional District has been in Republican hands for 28 years and is where they run up huge margins on statewide races. If Democrats can win that district, and with a good candidate like Harry Teague they can, we will be able to put New Mexico solidly in Obama's column and begin to make life better for the average American.
